The City in the Sky
{{{image}}}
Name Aeropolis
Dominating Organisation None

Basic Information[]

A floating city in the sky. A legendary and wealthy kingdom called "Aeropolis", ruled by an unknown king and governed by his three princess daughters, divided into 3 districts, each named after its governing princess. If one were to 'fall off' of the edge of the floating city, they'd be teleported into the castle's dungeon immediately. Innocents, of course, would be immediately released. This makes the capturing of criminals easier, though, as they would simply have to be forced off of the edge to be caught.

Geography[]

-Center Kingdom: In the center of the floating city is a very large building. It could safely be called a "skyscraper", except that it is already in the sky. It is well-fortified with weaponry, soldiers, and walls, because it contains the city's most precious articles and libraries, as well as the living quarters for the King. The 'basement' of this building is considered the city's dungeon, which courses underground through the entire floating island.
Three subdivisions are built around the Center Kingdom-- each one with its own castle, town, and city gates/walls. The three castles are built close to this building, and a large wall circumnavigates it to connect each castle. [imagine a 'Radiation' symbol. The center dot would by this kingdom, and the 3 larger shapes would be the 3 sub-divisions of the kingdom]
--'Cherish' Subdivision: A subdivision that reaches from the north east of the Center Kingdom to the north west. The princess 'Cherish' lives in the castle that is built near the large building of the Center Kingdom [just north of it]. The city's wealth is most abundant in this sub-division, and trading and business are popular topics among those who live in it. Shops, malls, and markets flood every corner of Cherish's subdivision, and 50% of Aeropolis' civilians live in this section of the kingdom.
--'Faith' Subdivision: A subdivision that spreads fro

m the west of the Center Kingdom to the south. The princess 'Faith' lives in the castle that is built near the large building of the Center Kingdom [just west of it]. Religions and sciences, wisdom and knowledge-- it all flows abundantly in this section of the kingdom. 'Warrior' and his best friend, 'Ash' live in this subdivision as well. All mages are trained in this area, before dispersed into other sections of the kingdom to fulfill their duties. While this section has hardly any shops or markets, it has an abundance of libraries, forums, and training camps to fulfill its boundaries of the city.

--'Trinity' Subdivision: A subdivision that reaches from the west of the Center Kingdom to the south. The princess 'Trinity' [also called 'Hope'] lives in the castle that is built near the large building of the Center Kingdom [just east of it]. Everything combat related is located in this section-- weapon shops, armories, weapon development centers, you name it. This is also where guards are trained before they are dispersed throughout the kingdom. Although 'Warrior' doesn't live in this division, he has to visit it every so often for his training as a guard. This section has no non-combat shops or malls, but it is rich with gyms, arenas, and the like. Every sort of martial art is taught here, and combined into one art of which their guards are trained. The highest ranking guard is rewarded a resembling statue-- which is the greatest honor in the entire land, aside from being royalty. Only two statues currently stand of former legends: the hero 'Onesimus', who hunted down the queen's murderer and brought him to justice, and the soldier 'Zenas', who gave his life protecting the king and his three daughters from an invasion of long ago. It was during Zenas' time that the Queen was murdered, but he managed to save the lives of the rest of the royal family. Onesimus tracked down the killer and punished him accordingly. Although Onesimus is still alive, he hasn't been seen in years, and the only remaining evidence is the statue built in his honor. Each statue is built and set on display near the entrance to the large building in the Center Kingdom.

-Outskirts: Beyond the walls of the kingdom is a field of grass and soil. Few trees are scattered about the field near the edge of the island, which is just beyond the field. All types of animals and beasts inhabit the field, but the walls of the city protect it from interference. At the northern most part of the floating island is a mysterious gate that appeared recently. Researchers claim it to be a Remnant of a dream of an other-worldly goddess... No one has yet step foot into he portal, and nothing is reported to have come out of it. This is the entry/exit path of Aeropolis, and can be travelled to directly from the outer gates of the Cherish Subdivision.

-Underground Caverns: Under neath the entire city runs a network of caverns and tunnels. While these are mostly used as a sort of 'dungeon' for prisoners, other citizens and guards can find productive use of it by a quicker means of travel between one subdivision and another instead of going on foot above ground, where the streets are flooded and human-traffic is always jammed. Down here, one could go underneath all of the walls, buildings, and people that would normally get in their way, which gives them a now virtually straight path to their location. Guards flood this underground passage so that prisoners don't escape or threaten anyone. The underground tunnel has an exit/entrance at every subdivision's gate, in the center of each subdivision, and near the entrance to the large building in the Center Kingdom.

-Energy Core: The most vital part of the entire kingdom-- a quite massive crystal that is held in a fortified, protected room underneath the large building of the Center Kingdom. This crystal is what keeps the island afloat, and should it be stolen or destroyed, the entire city would come crashing down to the ground, causing almost certain death for anyone in it or nearby the point of impact, on the ground. Only the most trusted individuals are allowed to access or protect this area, as it is the kingdom's most prized and vital possession.

Groups[]

Royal Family: Consisting of 'Cherish', 'Faith', and 'Trinity'-- the three royal daughters [also called a 'princess', if you didn't already know that] of 'The King' over the kingdom called 'Aeropolis'.

Guards: Guards flood every section of the kingdom, ensuring the safety of the royal family from outsiders and 'Plagues'. They wield no armor or shield, but lightweight swords and a short red scarf. Well trained and confident, these soldiers rarely fail at their job. Other types of guards called 'Mages' protect the city as well. Similar to guards, they only wield a short weapon and a short scarf. A mage wields a small dagger, and their scarf color is blue.

Plagues: A spawn of darkness-- species unknown. The Plagues' origin is currently unknown, except that they usually appear in large numbers after a crime, or highly unjust act. It's almost as if injustice attracts them. They appear to be glowing silhouettes of darkness, about average human height [5'8], and carry no weapons. Their body parts can 'morph' into any shape, though-- including [but not limited to] weapons, and a flame of darkness trails off of their back much like a scarf. They fight stronger in the darkness and in chaos than in light or tranquility. Not as skilled as guards, but they're still above-average opponents.

Citizens: Aeropolis is absolutely flooded with these. They come in all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and even races. The majority are humans. They each have different fashions-- some of medieval-like fashions and others of more future [IE: A.D.2000] trends. They're quite friendly-- to anyone. Even aliens that the country is at war with.

Characters (NPC Main)
[]

Ash: A talented pyro-kinetic that happens to be best friends with 'Warrior'. He's a little less reckless than Warrior, but far more protective over those he cherishes. He has a greater trust and mercy for other people than Warrior does, but his courage pales in comparison to that of his best friend.
Appearance: Ash wears pretty simple apparel that boasts his two favorite colors-- Black and Red. He wears black pants and a red, unbuttoned and collar-popped shirt over a white T-shirt. His shoes are black, too.
On each hand he has fingerless, black leather gloves, but extending from his right hand [underneath the glove] to his elbow is a bandage wrapped around to secure his wrist. No one really knows whether that wrist is broken or sprained, but it's for sure wounded. He shows no signs of the wound, though, and uses that hand just as efficiently [if not more] than any other human.
Thinking it's "cool", or for some other odd reason, Ash is never seen without wearing a pair of black shades and without a small, slightly torn black scarf around his neck. His black hair is always spiked-- even when wet!

Faith: Another one of Warrior's best friends [also closely acquainted with 'Ash'], and more importantly, one of the 3 princesses of the King of 'Aeropolis'. She's very kind, trustworthy, and faithful [no pun intended]. Of the three princesses, Faith is the bravest and strongest. She has a fondness of weaponry and combat, and she avoids maintaining a very royal attitude and posture. Rather, she likes to crack jokes on her friends from time to time, and she is almost trying to make a fool out of herself, or out of someone else. She's quite fun to be around, and at times, Ash and Warrior almost forget that she's royalty. Best of all-- it doesn't even bother her. Appearance:
Faith isn't very tall, nor is she very short. Average height and quite in shape-- a trait that she shares with both of her sisters. Unlike them, however, Faith has brilliantly bright red hair-- unmistakeable with any other color. Her eyes are an even more brilliant and bright blue, and she has semi pale/semi tan skin. Her complexion, as are the others princess', is perfect.
Her hair is always worn so that it's straightened, with her bangs reaching her eyebrows and the back of her hair reaching just past her shoulders. Despite her princess status and personality, she doesn't often where very royalty-worthy apparel. Her usual clothing consists of a white zipped-up hoody, dark blue skinny jeans, flipflops [or sandals], and an accessory or two [such as a bangle, neckless, etc. No piercings].

Cherish: The firstborn princess of the three, and the most beautiful and radiant of them all, and of the entire Remnant. Cherish is a kind-hearted and gentle spirited young girl with a craving for adventure and action. She's got a fair sense of humor and of justice; she's fair and equal to all of her fellow citizens, and most importantly she shows no favoritism. She loves all equally, and wouldn't hesitate to trade her life for another-- no matter how 'small' some may call said life. She has little acquaintance with Warrior or Ash, but she's had a few conversations while Faith was first befriending the two.
Appearance:
Slightly taller than Faith, but just as in shape, makes Cherish just a little heavier. Slightly more tan skin and equally blue eyes as her two other sisters. What causes Cherish to stand apart is her beautiful blonde hair, which she frequently wears in different styles and fashions. She, too, doesn't always wear princess-y clothes, but she tends to dress up more often than Faith. Her apparel is always different, but for the sake of story, she wears a white unzipped hoody over a modest cyan tanktop, light blue capries that have a few small rips in them for style, and matching white stylish slip-on shoes. She wears a white, thick bangle on her right wrist, and two small white crescent shaped earrings. Ninety-percent of the time, her hair is worn slightly curly [very slightly] and hanging down stylishly cut between the bottom of her chin and her shoulders. Her bangs are pulled back over the top of her head.

Trinity "Hope": The youngest of the three royal-blood princesses, and the most competitive. Trinity's friends and family give her the nickname 'hope', since it is a word she uses quite frequently. "I hope I win, I hope this happens, I hope he's there", she repeats it many times a day. She's the most athletic and energetic of the three, and by far the most generous. A selfless, physically active princess-- she knows Warrior and Ash quite well, but she isn't nearly as close to them as Faith.
Appearance:

A little shorter than her two other sisters, but just a fit, makes Trinity [better known as "Hope"] the lightest of the three. Her common features include the brilliant blue eyes, the fair complexion, and jeans. She wears a modest yet fashionable white V-neck whose sleeves reach down to the palms. There's a whole on each sleeve that her thumb slips through-- the white color of the V-neck sweater matches her white painted fingernails. She wears stylish white slip on shoes to match as well, and her jeans have a few trendy rips in them. Her hair is dirty blonde-- almost mistaken for a light brown. Her hairstyle is similar to Faith's-- straightened to the back of her shoulders, except that unlike Faith, Trinity has her bangs cut off. Trinity wears no accessories.

'The King': The ruler of the massive, tri-kingdom called "Aeroplolis". His name is unknown by everyone except a chosen few. His appearance, too. In time, he may reveal his identity and form, but that day will be far from now. Cherish, Faith, and Trinity [ofcourse] know their father's identity, but despite their tried efforts, Warrior and Ash haven't been able to get it out of them. 'The Queen' died long ago, a few short weeks after giving birth to the third heir of their father; 'Trinity'.
Since the kingdom of Aeropolis has three subdivisions, The King granted each of his daughters rulership over their own subdivision and named it after them. So there is the "Subdivision [also called a 'subkindgom'] of Cherish", the "Subkingdom of Faith", and the "Subkingdom of Trinity". Each Princess lives in their appropriate subdivision. Warrior and Ash live in the subkingdom of Faith, but have visited the other two on many occasions.

'Mysterious Man' ("The Shadow"): Darkness veils the appearance and face of this unknown inhabitant. No one knows if he's civilian or alien, but he is welcomed with kindness and accepted just as any other normal citizen. It's clear, though, that he has rather dark motives... A close eye is kept on him. Some call him "The Shadow", because of his unpredictable yet swift assets. A brown-cloaked figure is all that people can see of him, until they discover his true identity.
