Timeline of AT

2009

Early 2009

The original plot foundation for Remnants and the Remnant Grid was developed along with the original Amorous. The idea and plotline was steadily drawn out and fleshed out during the first half of this year.

Summer

The manifestation of the new plotline began in the form of Archaic Twilight: Project Eclipsis. The plan was to call it the “re-imagining of AT”. It was planned to launch by the end of the summer and would be hosted on the original proboards. The project was dropped halfway through.

August – Mid-November

All plans for Project Eclipsis were dropped and all hopes of a new AT surfacing on the net dropped. Towards the end of November, new inspiration was found and slowly plans for a new forum were created.

December 20th

The initial concept for Eden Genesis was proposed to Chaos. The battle system was in its early stages and several story concepts from Project Eclipsis were brought back. Slowly, plans were laid out for the revival of Archaic Twilight, except this time bigger than anything before.

2010

January 24th

With the aid of the staff member Intoxicated, Archaic twilight was constructed using the SMF software. It was hosted up to a free server and had the given URL ‘archaic-twilight.co.cc’.

February – May

A substantial amount of progress was made in the construction of the forum and the RPG in general. The bulk of the work was done during this period.

May 9th

The domain ‘archaic-twilight.net’ was registered.

June 27th

The forum reached a state of completion.

June 28th

Forum officially opened, much to the surprise of several people. Unfortunately the launch was on a Monday, and consequently suffered a very slow release.

Late June – July 28th

After a slow first couple of days, AT’s beginnings rapidly accelerated. Several Jobs and Adventures were being started. The staff was quickly overwhelmed, however for the most part things were going extremely well. The famous Doomsclock Castle run executed by Nika was also finished during this time. In the early morning of July 28th, implementation of Organizations was being added along with several forum theme changes.

July 28th – August 16th

Immediately after several of the changes were saved, the forum crashed. Though the causes were unknown at first, it was later identified that the forum had clearly exceeded the limited amount of bandwidth that was allocated to a free server. Due to the fact that upgrading to the premium server would require a payment, the forum was unable to come back online for two and a half weeks. This has been the longest recorded down time for the forum and was later named ‘The 5K Image Incident’.

August – September

The forum was facing the difficulty of regaining the momentum it previously had. Posting has slowed down dramatically however September’s monthly update marked the beginning of a more active member base.

October Madness

The infamous month of October garnered the most activity that has ever been recorded on AT. The Choco Coin event was launched which promoted waves of heavy posting. Discussions and RPs flowed heavily during this time, making AT one very active forum. The madness and mass-obsession with Choco Coins lead the month to become rather infamous in the eyes of the staff.

October 22nd – 23rd

Krimm, always obsessed with improving the forum, uploaded a modification to the forum to make the URLs cleaner. Due to a certain clash in the coding, the forum crashed for the majority of the 22nd. Later in the day, the error was identified as a single line of code. The proceeding day was spent re-establishing the forum due to the fact that much of its appearance had been destroyed by the error. This event was later named ‘A Single Line of Destruction’.

November

Fortunately thanks to the Choco Coin Event in October, activity wasn’t halted in the slightest after the Line of Destruction error. With October having been so successful, much hype was being placed in November. In an attempt to keep the activity moving, a large RP event was in the works along with a brand new homepage that would draw the attraction of guests. Unfortunately due to misunderstandings between the staff, the RP Event was never executed. In essence, November ended up being a dud month.

December

Things steadily progressed into December. Though the activity of October was never met, December kept the people posting with the Eden Awards event along with the promise of a forum upgrade deemed “Version 1.1”.

December 20th

Version 1.1 is released in coincidence with Archaic Twilight’s first birthday since the Eden Genesis project began.

2011

January’s Promise of Tomorrow

A bit of an inspirational update was given in honor of the New Year and the hopes for a prosperous 2011 for the forum. The update was posted on the first day of 2011 and promised the first ever Rank Advancement event.

January 9th

The 9th marked the beginning of the forum’s first ever Rank Advancement event which would allow members to up their character’s battle rank. The event was a wild success with a total of 7 Advancement Exams issued, 4 of which succeeding in upgrading their Rank. Also denotes the unusual beginnings of the character Lita Amatreus.

February – March

Rather dead months due to the fact that Krimm decided to hop away from the forum and ignore his duties as an Administrator. Though the forum was still in the hands of other admin, Chaos, the activity was still stagnant.

April 1st Fail

Chaos, taking the opportunity, created an elaborate April Fool’s joke in response to Krimm’s absence. Unfortunately due to fallout between everyone, it ended up being a bit of a messy event.

April 9th – Continuing

Krimm makes his official return to the forum by first deleting the April Fools topic and setting up new thread in regards to April. Though no ‘official’ events were planned for April, things steadily progressed due to the video-message sent to several active members of the forum. The message, meant as a catalyst to bring in the Organizations in the RP, essentially kick-started the RP. Only a few hours after the message had been sent, the Organization lead by the member that sent the message managed to bring the main city of the RPG under his group’s rule. This marked perhaps one of the largest in-game movements ever executed. In addition, the previous Proctor of the Rank Advancement Event, Lita Amatreus, was converted into a full on Character owned by Krimm.

May

A formal update topic was made in order to bring back some of the life to the forums. Though little was offered in terms of events, activity was still progressing with the return of a few several active RPs. The activity of the Organizations became dramatically slowed. Prep work for a very large June event began.

June

Unfortunately June had little to no activity, however the staff began work to bring back the vitality the forums once had.
